MiRaJeS (2007.11.16)

Well, another page done and posted, though I think this one was a lot harder on Kris than it was on me. About the only thing we didn’t get into the page was the spell translation into French, and we have been, um, “advised” against using Babelfish for translation. No hidden history lessens here, just plain old bad-guy-threatening-helpless-elf-wench goblin speech and a bit of surprise on Una’s part. Oh and a magic talking sword, nothing unusual there.

The good news for you all is that there are more pages under way, though for me that means more dialog work. At least I don’t have to do any of the drawing – to paraphrase the TV intro to The Incredible Hulk, “Don’t make me draw things. You wouldn’t like it when I draw things.” I can do boxes and lines, and sort of weird-looking stick people, but anything more is just beyond me. Weird in a way since my mom is an amazing artist who works in everything from oil paints to pisanka eggs to scratchboard. Ah well.

Kris is thinking of offering a nice quality print version of one (or more?) of the panels from the comic at some point, assuming there is public interest in such a thing. Aside from the agony of selecting which one(s) would be offered, there’s the question of what sizes would be popular – with the obvious issue that larger sizes cost more. We’re interested in getting feedback from you all on what panels (the panel is the single image, usually several panels to a page) you’d most be interested in, and sort of what price point you’d be willing to cough up. If we can get enough interest in a particular panel at an agreed-on price point, it would be cost-effective to make and ship them. You might even be able to convince Kris to autograph some of them, like maybe the first 10 ones ordered.

I’m of the opinion that the title panel from 6-24 would make a nice poster. Autographed I’m thinking that would be worth $25 - $40 to me; without the autograph, probably only worth $15 - $20.

I’ll keep my eyes open, for either an official offer or other panels I might like to see offered.

^_^; one word,”Awesome,” Actually I have more to say, I need lessons on drawing, I’ve been having some trouble with the arms and hands, I’m doing better on the head and limb poportions (sp), and I need a bit of help on not side profiles, but, you know, when you turn your head to the side, but not completely, like, you can still see both eyes, you know what I mean, hopefully…. ^_^; Sorry, this messege is a little selfish, I was gonna call you, but, of course, I forgot… I love you! Bye. Oh yeah, I need your email address!

Hey there Avery, Give me a call, I can help you with all of those art needs. Try sending me a message through the contact link at the top of the page. I’ll give you my home and work email address once I get your email, ok? I love you honey!

BTW: For all of those out there who do not know this, Avery is my daughter from my previous marriage. She is a wonderful, bright girl who just happens to have her dad’s creative skills. She’s my special girl and hopefully will be lending me a hand on Ethereal once she finishes school.
