Tuesday, March 11th, 2008Hello, sorry about the delay. Things have not been good for me lately. But people like Wagner do things like this to make me smile. Wagner is a mentor and extremely talented artist from Brazil. He has shown me many tips in order to help me make it to the next level, his level. Though I have a ways to go it is always very good to have friends like Wagner to lend a hand. The gift he did for me took me out of my slump and gave me a smile for the first time in weeks. I still have no furniture but I was told by the movers that my stuff is in transit and it will be here by the end of the work week. Once I get my computer I will begin posting more often, I have no family anymore so I have time, unfortunately. I have penciled the entire 2nd issue and Michael and I are looking forward to writing the 3rd. Seriously, I have way too much time these days. The art has gotten better and I look forward to hearing from everyone. Once my computer is here I can begin coloring the 2nd issue. Thanks everyone and I will be back on soon.

This kind of gift would more likely make me cry then smile (and then roll in a ball, in dark corner, unwanted) but it’s nice that something good showed up in your week.
Wagner’s deviant page will have a new visitor from now on, but I’m still waiting for the next Etheral Legacies strip too ^_^

After looking at Wagner’s stuff and then looking at this here, I have to say that he just gave you the biggest compliment ever. He has incredible artwork that is very stylized in his own flavor, but this…all I can say is WOW!
He had to have spent literally hours on that seeing how much detail is in it. I’m just flat out speechless LOL. It is a gift that is definitely well done and at the same time well deserved :).
Keep smiling Kris and remember that you have a great many behind you, supporting you :).

If it were entirely realistic it wouldn’t be much of a fantasy drawing, at least not for that style of art.

That’s why they call it stylized art Wim. I agree it’s a definite 10/10, but keep in mind that Wagner’s style is drawn with skinny waists to accentuate their curvy/sexy figures. It’s not meant to be in any way shape or form a real life representation.
Oh and just for the record my X girlfriend from 8 years ago had a waist size of 0. Believe me, women “can” be that thin at the waist. I have big hands and could touch my thumbs together and almost touch my middle finger tips together behind her back LOL. Just saying there are some women shaped like this haha :).

It’s a style that fits the fantasy aspect of the comic. That’s what I have to say about it. I also want to add THAT I FINALLY GOT MY FURNITURE! I have a lot of unpacking to do, then it is back to work on the comic. I know everyone is going to love the new stuff!

I know the curves are sexy … very sexy, and that it belongs to this art style to accentuate these lines. A wast line this thin has been a fashion during several periods in history.
However I believe my point still stands that in real life a woman with hips like that, a waste this thin and breasts like this picture would -at the very best- have serious lower back problems.
Correct me if wrong but I doubt that your ex-girlfriend with the waste 0 would have wide hips and full breasts (silicone not included).

The reason for my post is a simple one. One that should not be repeated to often or it will get boring and anoying. Nevertheless it should be added from time to time as a side note:
Young people are easely influenced. In the case of this picture boys will think girls must look like this and girls will think they must look like this. It will become the ideal. Both sides will go through great lengths to achieve their goal with disasterous results. Anorexia, osteoporosis, difficult upto impossible conception or child birth, silicole poisoning … the list goes on.

don’t get me wrong … this NOT CAUSED by this kind of image, it is caused by a WRONG INTERPRETATION of the medium.
With wrong interpretation I mean: the picture above is and remains a drawing and the hot women in your Maxim’s catalogue are photoshoped to the extreme by equally skilled artists as Wagner.
